Obento

69 Baldwin Street

Bristol

BS1 1QZ

Obento, thanks to its considerable selection of all too tempting bento boxes, noodle dishes, curries and tempura on offer, has been a favourite of anyone searching for an authentic Japanese restaurant and night out in Bristol since it opened in May 2005.

The restaurant's more than reasonable prices, relaxed atmosphere, cutting edge minimalist decor and friendly staff all probably helped a bit too, as did the sushi menu and the fact that portions for the set meals for two are reportedly so large that you might just be able to feed a secret third person if you keep them hidden under the table.

Review

Previuosly only had take away form Obento, which have always been a delicious feast.

This time I ate in the restaurant with someone who had never had sushi/Japanese food. We asked for some guidance in our selection, and the charming waitress provided all of that, as well as teaching my friend how to handle chopsticks.

The venue is a bit too bright, but the service very good. The food came quickly, and was as good as usual.

Good value for money. I'll definately go back.
