Building an empire is something almost every Queen I know is working towards or doing. Juggling a business and managing day to day life can be a struggle at times. As a single mom, it has been hard to balance my dreams of building an empire and legacy, working a nine to five, and raising my little princesses. But it all comes down to one thing. How bad do I really want it? It’s a question we must all ask ourselves on this quest in order to discover our “why” and our push for continuing to build our empires, brick by brick.
For way too long, I felt stuck in the rut of having a nine to five and knowing that there was so much more out there for me. I finally got tired and decided that I owed it to myself to at least try to get out there and follow my heart and my dreams. I have big dreams of writing several best-selling novels, eventually running an independent publishing house and getting my Human Resources consulting firm off the ground. Also on my heart is my women’s ministry. All of these things comprise the empire I am building. At first, I was overwhelmed and scared at taking the first step towards being a boss Queen, but I realize that this is bigger than me. I push for my little princesses and know that I can only put one foot in
front of the other and take one step at a time until I get where I need to be. I want to encourage you Queens to do the same. With God, discipline, and determination, you can build the empire you desire. You just have to be willing to lose to win sometimes.
Of course building an empire will require a lot of sacrifices. There will be sleepless nights. There will be no social life at times. You may even lose a few friends along the way. There will be people who will judge your decisions and salt will be thrown on your name a few times. You just have to trust the process. All of these things build your character and prepare you for the large undertaking of running a successful empire. And if God is in the details of it all, He will certainly orchestrate your every step to put you in the perfect position to be successful. Once you’ve adopted an empire state of mind, realize that it will all be worth it in the end.
