BLOOD ON THE DANCE FLOOR
Marquise Walker is taking CHARGE #Scripture by: Lefty B. Boyd
It was ‘wartime’ in the mind of the King, Coach Ping, of St. Joseph High school. His mission at hand was to laydown a vicious 5 man attack on anyone who stands in the way of the almighty Chargers march to the “Promised
Land (Downstate games). Coach Ping went out and found a young pup with huge paws and decided to ‘jump
shawty right off da porch’ and directly into the battle field to serve & protect St. Joe’s hoop legacy - 94 feet between
dem lines. IACB caught up with St. Joseph Super Sophomore point guard Marquise Walker and he shared a few
words with us that went a little something like this……
HOW DOES IT FEEL TO BE PLAYING FOR THE SAME SCHOOL (St. Joseph)
AND POSITION AS ARGUABLY THE GREATEST POINT GUARD TO EVER
PLAY THE GAME OF BASKETBALL?
MW: I feel like I will do very well under Coach Pingatore guidance.
MW:
He has helped a lot of players before me so I’m fully comfortable under his direction. I’m cool with it.
HOW WAS YOUR PAST 2016 SUMMER AAU SEASON?
MW: It could have been a little better. We ran into some issues but
next year it’s going to be showtime!
WHAT GAME ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS 201617 SEASON?
MW: The Curie high school game this December 11th vs my boi
Elijah Joiner that just signed with Tulsa U. It’s going to be crazy!
GIVE ME TWO SCHOOLS THAT’S RECRUITING YOU
RIGHT NOW?
MW: Illinois , Iowa St.
ARE THOSE SCOUTING SERVICE PLAYER RANKINGS LIST
IMPORTANT TO YOU?
MW:
It depends, I look at it on one hand as a way to evaluate my
performance vs the competition, but on the other hand I know that
those rankings won’t determine my outcome as far as my performance
in games, what college I will attend, or if I will have a future in the
NBA. So I look at it in two ways.
