In search of a better quality of life for her Baby-boy , it was Momma Williams decision as head of her house hold to send off her precious little one to the West Coast to finish up his high school career . In her eyes , she knew the detriments of the current state of life which we are living within while raising 3 young men in the 3rd largest public housing development in the city of Chicago . For Momma Williams , the thoughts of a better opportunity academically along with a safer environment where her youngest , Marquan ‘ Bay-Bay ’ Williams , a 5 ’ 9 junior scoring point guard can also excel as a student athlete was a no brainer .... And now Bay Bay is refreshed and ready to rewrite his high school journey and show West coast hoops what Chicago is made of .... So without further due from Chicago to Seattle Washington , Marquan ‘ Bay-Bay ’ Williams speaks to Iacb the Magazine .
Q . WHERE ARE YOU FROM ? BAY-BAY Born & raised in the Village USA on the West side of Chicago Q . WHAT IS IT LIKE GROWING UP IN THE VIL- LAGE ? BAY-BAY I tried to stay out of trouble but when you live in the Village you ‘ IN-IT ’ ( the trouble ) regardless .... Even if your not involved , you involved .... So I just stayed around my older brothers to have something to do . Q . THE VILLAGE COMMUNITY HAS A REPUTA- TION FOR PRODUCING SOME OF THE BEST BALLPLAYERS THIS CITY HAS EVER SEEN . YOU PART OF THAT INFLUENCED YOU ? BAY-BAY Basketball in the Village had a real big influence on why I play . I ’ ve seen players from my projects walk the same path that I ’ m trying to walk and win ! Made it out the hood to a better way of life for themselves through the ball .
