Keeping it in the Family at Hult
to learn about all aspects of the business and
eventually see the bigger picture.
For me one of the main issues facing family
businesses is succession. Not all family members are capable of or interested in handling
the family business. That is a cause of concern
for traditional businesses like ours wherein we
do not hire non-family members to hold key
management roles in the company. Sometimes
it is hard to make big decisions because people can use the relationships to their advantage
instead of being professional about them.
Many a Hult alum goes on to work in their
family’s business. This professional group is
also well represented on campus, so much so
