Me, myself, and
Hult: Finding my
best side
“I think it’s the people, don’t you?”
“I couldn’t agree more, Alik.”
This snippet is taken from a conversation
I was recently having with a friend about
what makes Hult ‘Hult’.
Looking back at my year at Hult, it dawned
on me how easy the process of going from
being a student to figuring out life post-
masters had become. It is the people who
have helped make this transition easy for me.
I came to realize that Hult is all about people
and what these people bring to the table
through their diverse backgrounds in order to
build relationships, ideas, and moments.
I have participated in events such as
TEDxHult, the Hult Prize, and the Global
Alumni Day, as a Student Global Ambassador.
I remember my second day at Hult when
applications for the Ambassador roles were
being madly filled out. I knew immediately
that I had to be part of the program. My
experience leading the Global Ambassadors
on the postgraduate campus, from
representing the study body during campus
tours to the Hult Prize in New York, has been
an unforgettable one.
I was also involved with Hult Founders
Lab (HFL), the in-house student incubation
program. One memorable event was the
client challenge we lead together with our
mentor, Dhiraj Mukherjee, co-founder of
Shazam, who has been with us since the
inception of HFL at the Postgraduate campus.

A year goes by quite quickly, and I have
learned to enjoy every part of the journey
as a graduate student. The memories I built
through my various activities across different
Hult organizations show what a complete
Hultian experience I had.
I look forward to being part of this group
that believe in building a future that
empowers people.
And what do I mean by future?
All of the students who took Principles
of Accounting with Professor Aleksander
Grzeszczak this year would know what I’m
talking about. Professor Alek mentioned the
infamous “crystal ball”, jokingly using it as
a metaphor for some traders who often act
as though they can predict the future.
No one can predict the future.
Stop making assumptions or thinking
something should happen because of some
previous circumstance. Why? Because
people at Hult have shown us that the future
is unpredictable, and we are the people who
are actively changing the rules of the game.
Whether you plan on taking part in the
Hult Alumni Committee, becoming a chapter
leader, a member of one, an Alumni
Ambassador, or an active participant in Hult
events, make sure you embody the values
and principles of your Hult experience.
It is all about the people you surround
yourself with. And to those that were
around me, I am forever grateful.
