ON CAMPUS
Ashridge hosts Bootcamp 8.0 A night to remember
The Bootcamp stage of the Pitch@Palace 8.0
competition was held on October 10, 2017 at
Ashridge House. Things started intensively, with
master-classes in entrepreneurship, coaching,
negotiation, and PR being offered to the
participants the evening before they took to the
podiums. Hult and PR agency Fieldhouse facilitated
these classes. In total 43 entrepreneurs had just
three minutes to pitch their ideas to the Duke of
York and an audience of supporters and elevators.
The businesses showcased were hugely
diverse, proving just how thriving the U.K.’s
entrepreneurial space is. Alongside getting to hear all of the pitches,
the entrepreneurs also received advice from
Facebook on how to maximize their reach in social
channels, including how to promote the People’s
Choice Award. Keynote speeches were given by
Ahmad Ashkar, Founder of the Hult Prize, Mukal
Kumar, Hult’s Chief Innovation Officer, and John
Neal, Head of Coach Development for the England
and Wales Cricket Board. The Alumni Relations
team invited 25 Hult alumni from the strategy and
innovation spheres to the event.
Edita Kaminskaite, fashion entrepreneur and
co-founder of Arthur Shirtley (MBA, 2017), was so
impressed by the standard of the business ideas
presented she is now looking to coach some of the
undergraduate student teams, and is seriously
considering volunteering as an elevator.
