Phyta is a company that has created an incentive and
marketplace for coastal fishing communities to grow, sell,
and invest in seaweed for a sustainable future. The business
model intends to support economic development in coastal
communities while simultaneously addressing the growing
global demand for alternative plastic, feed, and personal
hygiene products. Phyta was founded by three women from
North Carolina who are committed, passionate, and ready to
introduce the world to the game-changing, multi-faceted product
of seaweed and have already installed the first seaweed farm in
the state of NC. U-Light aims to provide a simple, affordable, and reliable
source of light to 1.2 billion people living off the electricity grid
across the world. The product harnesses kinetic energy to
generate electrical energy in a sustainable and cost-effective
manner. U-Light aims to become the world leader for human
powered innovation with plans to scale both vertically through
more products/models and horizontally across different regions.
The company is currently in the process of piloting their product
in rural areas of Nigeria. U-Light aims to capitalize on their
presence in Nigeria to establish connections and collect letters
of intent. U-Light is a movement that aspires to empower millions
of children and change the world—Nigeria is just the very first
step. U-Light: For a brighter future.
