ImpactRays Noor Medical International Islamic University of Malaysia Albert-Ludwig University Freiburg ImpactRays is a social enterprise startup which has developed a smart, solar powered, and automated irrigation system specifically for the 86 million low income smallholder Nigerian farmers. It aims to address the food security problem through boosting their yield during dry season farming, while simultaneously improving their living standards by increasing their income. The poor farmer is empowered with this zero energy cost and precision irrigation system which boosts the yield and income of the farmer by 10 times through commodity- based financing and zero down-payment through a leasing model. ImpactRays provides value to their customers by optimizing the process and offering additional services that add value. Noor Medical is a med tech startup with a safe surgery product line, including a hybrid solar-thermal autoclave, that makes safe surgery possible at rural off-grid healthcare facilities. Over 1.5 billion people in the world lack access to medical clinics with capable surgical instrument sterilization equipment, resulting in one out of every five patients in the developing world suffering from post-operative infections. Noor Medical’s mission is to increase humanity’s access to equitable healthcare by providing devices to sterilize medical instruments, with the capability to work in a variety of operational contexts. They currently focus on improving the provision of safe surgery in rural and off-grid medical clinics.
