COVER STORY
Meet Asha,
Hult’s new mascot.
She challenges the status quo.
She knows who she is and follows her own path.
She has a creative edge.
She is curious and cares about the world.
After many months of discussion between our
undergraduate students at the London and
San Francisco campuses, which involved focus
groups, surveys, and countless proposals driven by
the Hult Student Association of the undergraduate
program, we are extremely proud to unveil the
school’s new official mascot—Asha.
Asha is an Indian name that comes from the
Sanskrit word for “hope” and “desire”, but it is
also a Swahili name derived from Aisha,
meaning “life”.

Asha reflects Hult’s DNA—she shows a keen
interest in the world, an open mind, a bold spirit, a
creative intellect, and a resourceful attitude. Asha
is also female, because we wanted the mascot to
have the spirit of an inspirational, maverick female
leader of today—someone
to look up to and admire with a very relatable
human element.
Part of our mascot’s identity also references
the ash leaf, something commonly found at Hult
Ashridge, and makes up part of the Hult logo.
The leaf also symbolizes the transient nature of
opportunity. Louis Pasteur once said “Chance
favors the prepared mind,” and this is
what the Hult education is all about: Preparing
students to be able to recognize and seize
opportunity, whatever shape it comes in.
