ANDY ACCESS – IPAF’S GLOBE-TROTTING SAFETY AMBASSADOR
A
ndy Access – IPAF’s friendly face of Powered
Access safety – has for several years now been
popping up at trade shows and health & safety
events around the world, as well as in a constantly
expanding and evolving series of safety posters that
are currently in nine languages including Chinese and
Turkish.
There are 20 different simple safety messages across
the series, designed to be posted in breakrooms and on
worksites to remind operators and their managers or
supervisors of basic daily safety tips and checks to make
to remain safe.
At the end of 2017, IPAF also launched an
accompanying series of Toolbox Talks designed for
managers, supervisors or team leaders to deliver on the
spot to operatives before the shift begins to emphasise
certain key safety elements to all employees about to
undertake work with MEWPs or MCWPs. IPAF intends
to grow the series of Toolbox Talks so there is one to
correspond with each Andy Access safety poster. extensive safety and technical guidance, and attracts
visitors to IPAF’s stand to talk about safety and training
support wherever he goes; last year he made his debut
at Patformers’ Days in Germany and VDS in Portgual,
where he so impressed the representative of the EU
OSHA and its fellow mascot Napo that the organisation
has now agreed to endorse the Andy Access poster
campaign across the EU.
Meanwhile, the Andy Access posters themselves are
constantly being updated, with new editions issued
regularly and new translations being added to reach the
widest range of operators and managers worldwide.
In 3D form, the larger-than-life Andy Access mascot
has proved a very successful ambassador for IPAF’s For more details about Andy Access and to download

beyond.
