introduced additional control measures to manage all
of the hazards identified in our risk assessment process,
including the introduction of health screening for all
employees.
The additional measures implemented for this project
are now being rolled out across the rest of British Steel’s
operations.
The controls put in during project execution were
audited by both the client’s Health & Safety Director, who
praised the systems in place, the project team leaders, and
an LRQA auditor. The LRQA auditor, who also reviewed the
systems and people working on site, ultimately recognised
Otto Simon’s safety standards with certification to the
OHSAS 18001 standard.
Ensuring that work is carried out in a safe and controlled
manner has opened doors to further contracts.
Otto Simon is very proud of the safe delivery of this
project, and we are applying our gained experience and
lessons learned into our future project delivery plans.
