T
he Clancy Group was founded in 1958 in Wembley,
by Michael Clancy as M.J. Clancy & Sons Limited –
undertaking ground works, drainage and road works
in and around London. It quickly developed a reputation
as a well-run business that delivered value for money
solutions and quality workmanship.
“In 1973, we acquired water and gas public works
contractor R.E. Docwra Limited and a few years later in
1976, moved to our head office in Harefield, where we are
currently still based.”
Kevin and Dermot Clancy were appointed as Joint
Managing Directors of The Clancy Group Plc in 1984,
following the death of their father, founder, Michael J.
Clancy. During their tenure as Joint MDs, the business has
grown from £8 million to over £250 million annual turnover.

well established as one of the leading national construction
companies in the UK. We operate across Water, Energy,
Rail, Multi Utility and Infrastructure Civils, with offices
across the UK from Livingston in Scotland, to the Isle of
Wight.
