For example, HP partnered with Girl Rising on a seven-
month story-driven challenge designed to elevate voices
of people around the world advocating for equality. The
essence of the challenge was to share a personal story using
technology—whether that is a pen and paper, a photograph,
a video, or audio recording. Winners received micro-grants,
HP products and services, and access to mentors to help
them on their journey. The challenge launched in April 2018,
and winners were announced on International Day of the
Girl Child on October 11. DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION THE HP WAY
HP is also supporting “Stories of Advocacy,” a partnership
with Women Deliver and its Young Leaders program leading
up to the 2019 Women Deliver conference. Through this
partnership, HP provided technology and support to 15
female and male Young Leaders from across the globe to
help them drive forward their advocacy platforms for social
change in and beyond their communities. We are committed to reinventing the standards for diversity
and inclusion by disrupting the system to drive change.
By challenging the status quo and advancing meaningful
evolution inside HP, across our supply chain, and in
communities where underrepresented talent resides, we are
strengthening our business and helping to foster an inclusive
global economy that benefits us all.
Reinventing the Standard for Diversity and Inclusion
From HP’s earliest days, the company recognized that
encouraging different points of view (inherent to a diverse
workforce) will yield better products and a more successful
company overall. Nearly 80 years later, we continue to
look to the HP Way for guidance and inspiration. The HP
Way informs how we work—embracing diversity to fuel
innovation, working in ways that are good for us and good
for the world, and solving challenges by bringing out the best
in each other.
