BRINGING CONTENT AND PRODUCTS
TO LIFE WITH SPROUT PRO
HP’s Sprout Pro empowers designers and retailers to
manipulate the physical and digital worlds in innovative
ways, from initial concept to final product. Built with a
PC, projector, hi-res cameras, Touch Mat and 2D and 3D
capture capabilities, Sprout Pro takes interactive expe-
riences to the next level, and makes collaboration and
productivity seamless.
Sprout Pro easily brings rich content to life, quickly cap-
turing objects in 2D and 3D using the unique WorkTools⁵
software. Its pressure-sensitive active pen can be used to
edit content in real time, and dual multi-touch displays con-
tribute to immersive and highly engaging interactions 6 .
What’s more, Sprout Pro is designed to be fuss-free,
reducing the need for extra hardware with a system that
integrates multiple technologies and seamlessly adapts
to changing environments. Retailers can use this flexible
system to create products and solutions, as well as add an
unforgettable in-store experience by using Sprout Pro as
an advanced kiosk that entices shoppers to linger longer.
For just one retail innovation built with Sprout Pro, con-
sider RSscan International’s Runners’ Lab. There, Sprout
Pro powers FitStation, dynamically scanning the custom-
er’s foot shape and running form for selection of just-right
insoles and shoes that increase performance and reduce
the chance of injury. RSscan International also pairs
Sprout Pro with HP MJF 3D printing technology to manu-
facture custom insoles—the next step up in their delivery
of personalized service to customers.
1. Lowest cost per color page claim applies to devices that are not sold
under contract: Comparison of HP PageWide A3 devices with the
majority of in-class color ink/laser MFPs ($3,000–$7,499 USD), and
color ink/laser single function printers ($1,500–$2,999 USD) as of Jan-
uary/February 2017; market share as reported by IDC as of Q4 2016.
Cost per page (CPP) reported by Gap Intelligence Pricing & Promo-
tions Report January/February 2017. Comparisons for devices/supplies
not sold under contract are based on published specifications of the
manufacturers’ highest-capacity cartridges, inclusive of long-life con-
sumables and page yield. Average HP yield based on ISO/IEC 24711
and continuous printing in default mode. Actual yield varies based on
content of printed pages and other factors.
2. Comparison of HP PageWide A3 devices with the majority of in-class
color ink/laser MFPs ($3,000–$10,299 and €2,820–€10,199), and color
ink/laser single function printers ($1,500–$4,299 and €1,410–€4,099)
as of April 2018 excluding other HP PageWide products; competitive
set based on market share data as reported by IDC as of Q4 2017, MSRP
data provided by Gap Intelligence and/or Buyers Lab. HP PageWide
speeds based on General Office mode and exclude first page.
3. Based on HP review of 2018 published security features of competitive
in-class printers. Only HP offers a combination of security features
that can monitor to detect and automatically stop an attack, and then
self-validate software integrity in a reboot.
4. Fewer service parts claim based on HP analysis of leading in-class A3
color laser printers and MFPs as of February 2018; calculations use
publicly available and/or published manufacturer rated yields for long-
life consumables and assume 600,000 pages printed (using a 60%
black/40% color ratio).
5. WorkTools is currently only available on Sprout Pro G2 and higher.
Internet access required. Some apps referenced through WorkTools
may require purchase.
6. Sprout Pro as a kiosk is optional and requires a custom application that
is tailored to each retail client’s requirements.
