SECURITY WHAT DOES A SECURE OFFICE LOOK LIKE NOW? Making long-term remote work more protected requires planning, monitoring, and the right hardware and software. BY GARAGE STAFF AS CITIES BEGIN REOPENING and people start resuming their normal day-to-day activities, the question of work remains. Some companies have extended the option to work from home until the end of the year, next year, or even indefinitely. Others are exploring a hybrid model where they’ll likely employ a variety of practices—from partial reopenings, creating small teams that take turns working together in an office, to transitioning to a permanent work-from-home policy. No matter what, knowledge workers will continue to be dependent on digital systems— perhaps now more than ever—to help them connect and collaborate on the job. Scammers and hackers have taken advantage of these months of upheaval, which has been compounded by the challenges of enforcing security policies and procedures with a remote workforce.
