18 20 QIAN LIN STEPHANIE DISMORE Palo Alto, California Austin, Texas HP Fellow and VP of AI & Emerging Compute HP printers can produce high-quality images and 3D parts for customers at low cost, at fast speed, and with high security. By applying machine learning to imaging challenges, and charac- terizing and optimizing the quality of printed images and 3D parts, we will further expand HP’s product capabilities, reduce design and testing time, and simplify product operations. AI can make human computer interaction more natural through speech, gesture, and gaze. It can help you curate and tell stories from your treasured lifelong memories stored in photos and videos. AI-enabled edge solutions and computer vision will have a great impact on healthcare (computers as doctors’ assistants that can “read” medical images or monitor how stroke patients are recovering at home by analyzing videos of them walking) and manufacturing (computers performing product quality checks with images from cameras), as well as on agriculture, environment monitoring, and smart cities. In five years, deep learning that enables a machine to “see,” “hear,” and “talk” will be widely used in industry solutions, and in 10 years, AI will move beyond these “senses” and will solve more general decision-making problems. SVP and MD, North America AI is already redefining the consumer experience through its ability to harness data, learn from that data, take action and make predictions. Over the next 10 years, this will impact HP’s business in terms of how we develop future products and services, how we build relationships with our customers, how we apply data and analytics to solve our customers’ business problems, and how we go to market. We’ll also see the implications in our personal lives, with AI-powering personalization and customization in our vehicles, our homes, and everywhere in between. PHIL M c COOG HP Fellow and Chief Technologist, Print Software Portland, Oregon HP has delivered the best and most trusted hardware experience for over 50 years, and is now in the middle of a transformation to be a leader in delivering digital experiences that involve hardware. To do this, we are building an entire digital ecosystem: cloud, mobile, big data, AI and machine learning, and firmware platforms that all integrate seamlessly and work as one. This is a journey that will be many years in the making, and we have the right people to do it. 41
