HP’s vision is to create technology that makes
life better for everyone, everywhere. To engineer
experiences that amaze—not just for today, but for
years to come. This requires a keen understanding
of how the world around us is evolving, the global
forces that are dramatically changing the landscape
of markets and industries, and trends that are
reshaping customer expectations.
We understand today’s business and our customers’
needs. But like any company, how we grow and
succeed long-term will depend on our ability to
change, transform, and adapt to the fast-paced
world around us. This requires each of us to tap
into our inner futurist: to look at trends and signals
that point to where things are going and use them
to plan and innovate.
HP has formalized its analysis and forecasting
process into a body of work, released annually,
that we call HP Megatrends. Megatrends are major
socioeconomic, demographic, and technological
shifts that will have a sustained, transformative
impact on the world in the years ahead — on
businesses, societies, economies, cultures, and
our personal lives. They will impact our experiences
at home, work, and on the go.
Megatrends, in combination with extensive
research into disruptive technologies on the rise,
provide us with a clearer view of what lies ahead
and what new opportunities may unfold for HP,
our customers, and our partners.
