learn and understand. Even further, teachers and parents
could use data to recognize and address deeper issues
that a student may be facing, such as mental health, sleep
issues, and childhood hunger. We know that teachers play
an indispensable role in the classroom—not just in the
conveyance of information, but in everything else that the
teacher does socially and from a human perspective.
Automation, artificial intelligence, and
machine learning will not replace
teachers, but rather empower them
to better help their students.
It’s this type of holistic assessment and approach to
education that will create engaged citizens and lifelong
learners. This method of understanding will help students
and workers alike become flexible, adaptive, and success-
ful in the world around them as they move forward in
their careers. Automation will inevitably change the way
we work and learn, but with a shift in mindset for learners,
humans can do what we’ve always done: adapt and thrive.
