WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO BE A FUTURIST?
Futurists today combine imagination with trends and
disruptive technologies to predict how the world around us
might evolve. Pushing the envelope of what’s possible.
Thinking like a futurist, however, shouldn’t be reserved for a
select group of people; rather it’s a basic skill set that anyone

can tap into. I believe in democratizing the skills of a futurist.
The more people who can see down the path, the better off
we’ll be. The ongoing problems the world is facing, like pov-
erty and climate change, cannot be solved with short-term
thinking. If we want to move forward and create the future
we want, we must adopt long-term, futuristic thinking.
