Welcome to
Howard Lake
Hello, and welcome to Howard Lake!
We want you to consider our home, your home! If you only
have time for a short visit, we invite you to stop in to one of our
quaint shops, take in dinner at one of our delicious restaurants,
or take advantage of our seasonal farmers market. If you have
a li le longer, please stop to enjoy one of our many beautiful
and diverse parks or an Orphans baseball game, both of which
surround the beautiful and trophy-fi sh-fi lled Howard Lake.
Of course, don’t forget to join us for the Wright County Fair,
the last week in July; or our community celebration, Good
Neighbor Days, the last week in June. Maybe you’re an aspiring
or growing entrepreneur seeking to take advantage of our
competitive business development incentives; we’re ready for
you! Or if you’re like the nearly 2,100 smiling residents that
have decided to raise their family here – we have robust housing
opportunities, as well. For an hour, a day, or a lifetime, come
discover Howard Lake, “Home of the Good Neighbor.”
We are growing and our focus is YOU!
Over the last year, we have grown by 45 new single family
homes; representing our single best year for growth ever! We
have quality housing options available for every need and price
point. Our newest subdivision, Villas of Howard Lake features
small, upscale homes for younger seniors. In the summer of 2019,
the city completed an extensive landscaping project featuring
Lions Park swimming beach.
We will continue to partner with HLWW Schools to expand our
Recreation, Exploration, Art and Community Health Initiative
(R.E.A.C.H.). Formerly known as Summer Rec, this program has
expanded beyond baseball to include soccer, free play, and over
two dozen activities and events throughout the summer.
We are proud of our history and excited for our future!

Marking the completion of a $1.5 million preservation and
accessibility project with our signature historic city hall located
downtown, we have established the South Shore Event Center
for celebrations, meetings and community functions. With
capacity for up to 350 people, we hope this building becomes a
literal beacon of our past and a symbol of our vibrant future.
Looking ahead to 2020, we hope our growth sustains and we
continue to improve and expand city services and amenities.
Do you have an idea to make our community be er, stronger or
more welcoming? I would love to hear it and would love to make
sure you are heard and involved. Come join us!
Cordially,
Pete Zimmerman
Howard Lake Mayor
