How To Sell Your Home For More
Walls
Color is very important when you’re presenting a home for sale. Good
presentation does NOT mean creating a strong color scheme. It’s
essential to put personal color preferences aside and go for broad
appeal. In my experience the best results have come by using a plain or
warm white right through. Be careful trimming doorways and skirting
boards with a contrasting color. The great thing about white is that you
will impress more people. White is an excellent background “canvas”
for the other features you will add.
My personal favorite white is called “Chalk USA.” I usually dilute to half
strength. It will give you a very classic look. You might also try “Antique
White.” Your local, paint shop or DIY store can guide you on this.
I suggest you use matt on walls. For the doors and door frames, gloss
is best. Good paint stores will offer you a small sample to try. Add the
sample color near the floor covering to gauge how they look together.
