"Marleen" (Dagboek van mijn apenjaren in de handelsschool
in Aalst) is about the coming of age of Eddy. At age 17, he falls
in love with Marleen. From the start however, the
relationship is limited by all kind of agreements amongst them
selves and with Marleen's family. What could be light and full
of fun, turns heavy and complicated. After a couple of
months, the couple splits. Only to discover that if going
together is no option, going on without each other is even
more difficult.
The story describes how the affaire with Marleen determines to
a large extent the decisions that Eddy takes during the best part
