Community Connections
Community living can be the highlight of your college career . It offers you a chance to meet , interact and build relationships with interesting and diverse people . In order to truly benefit from community living , you need to get involved . Here ’ s a few ideas :
• Respect others ’ space , their • dreams and their rights to express opinions .
• Show genuine interest by giving everyone a chance .

• Cooperate and compromise , because you can ’ t always get what you want .
• Take initiative by introducing yourself , asking friendly questions and striking up conversations .
Take responsibility by admitting mistakes , making amends and being responsible for your behavior .
Offer assistance when someone is in need .
• Confront conflicts with care .
• Be a team player .
• Be open – share your time and assistance with your community !

Have you seen the safe in your room yet ? Each resident gets their own safe that is conveniently located in their closet . While your room is already secure , you now have the peace of mind of knowing your most valuable belongings are protected while you are away from your room . Here are some interesting facts about the safes !
• Create your own personal pin code
• Stores up to a 17-inch Laptop
Personal Safes
• Store additional items : cell phones , credit cards , money , iPods , tablets , keys , important documents , etc .
There is a $ 98 charge for using the safes . You may opt out of this fee by filing out the opt out form in the Atrium by Friday , August 31 .
Dining Announcements
Paws-N-Go Market Located at the North Gym , Paws- N-Go market is Fresno State ’ s convenience store . Open Mon-Thurs from 9:00am to 10:00pm and Fri from 9:00am to 7:00pm . They have snacks , beverages and much more !
The Bucket Grill & Pub Located on campus next to Taco Bell . The many televisions are always on the sports channels , the music is always lively , and the food is always good ! Open Mon-Thurs 11:00am to 7:00pm and Fri 11:00am to 2:00pm .
* If you have the Platinum Meal Plan , you have a once a week meal at The Bucket .
Flex Money $ 150 ($ 200 for Silver Meal Plan ) will be automatically put on your student ID card , each semester , for use at the University Dining Services locations on campus .
Staying Safe
Safety is a top priority at University Courtyard . Keep yourself and our campus safe by following these simple steps :
• Don ’ t let strangers into your hall . Each resident received a key at check-in that can open the exterior door and their
own room door .
• Report any suspicious activities or emergencies to Fresno State Police by pressing a blue phone button or calling 278-8400 or 9-1-1 .
• Take advantage of campus escort services by calling 559-278-8400 .
• Never walk alone at night and always stay in well lit areas .
