To visit along the way
TREVISO
Cannot be reached by boat
Treviso is a charming work of art. The city
is about 5 km from the Houseboat base
and is connected via a cycling path and
bus service.
Casier
The town is pretty and traditional with
a lovely historic church and pedestrian
square. Free moorings available.
CASALE SUL SILE
This large river town offers pretty natural
panoramas. Casale sul Sile was founded in
1100 and was inhabited by the boat men
who transported goods and people to the
nearby Venice lagoon.
QUARTO D’ALTINO
Jesolo
Although the historic centre of Jesolo is of
no particular architectural interest, it has
many shops and activities. There are few
docking possibilities.
To have the drawbridges opened, call
ahead of time, and make an appointment
for opening.
Lido di Jesolo
The largest seaside resort on the Upper
Adriatic Sea, with shops and services
spread along its 11 km of coastline. Mod-
ern and busy during the summer, you will
find all kinds of entertainment and attrac-
tions, plus plenty of shopping, and a lively
nightlife. Once you have moored the boat,
take your bicycles or a taxi.
The town is quite modern although its ori-
gins go back thousands of years to Altino,
and ancient Roman settlement and port
whose ruins can still be visited today.
