Burano
CONCORDIA SAGITTARIA
Burano is one of the most spectacular is-
lands of Venice, famous for its lace and its
coloured houses. Home to great artists
like Baldassarre Galuppi, Remigio Barba-
ro and Pino Donaggio, and inspiration for
Arte Buranella. It is certainly one of the
most fascinating islands in the entire la-
goon.
The Roman colony was called “Iulia Con-
cordia”. At the beginning of the 4th cen-
tury AD, there was an arrow (sagittae)
workshop here, hence the second part of
the name. About two hours from Caorle,
this town has ancient origins, dating all
the way back to the Roman Empire when
it was a major commercial port.
CAORLE
Is a lovely town with about 11 000 inhab-
itants. Its origins go back to the first cen-
tury AC. Today, it is one of the prettiest
towns in the eastern Veneto, with its 18-
km long beach with golden sand. In addi-
tion to its gorgeous beaches and millen-
nial historic centre, the inland valleys and
lagoons are worthy of note.
TORCELLO
The most important archaeological site
in Venice lagoon, Torcello was one of the
most ancient and prosperous settlements
in the lagoon, dating all the way back to
the Roman. The church of Santa Maria As-
sunta, built in 1008, has a gorgeous mosa-
ic which occupies the back wall.
TREVISO
Treviso is a charming work of art. The
Sile and Cagnan Rivers wind through
the streets of the historic centre, adding
unique charm to the area within the city
walls. Visitors are enchanted by the main
AQUILEIA
With its immense archaeological area and
the patriarchal Basilica, it is a precious
jewel of art and history. Aquileia was one
of the largest and richest cities in the Ro-
man Empire in the Mediterranean. In 1998,
it was named a UNESCO world heritage
site.

away from the departure base, it’s reacha-
ble only via cycle path or car transfer.
VENICE
Venice is considered one of the most
beautiful cities in the world. Visiting it on
board your own boat is a once-in-a-life-
time experience, and helps to understand
how the city sought to amaze visitors who
arrived in the Saint Mark’s Basin. Mooring
is allowed only in designated places.
