eat, and whilst Thai food is the most
prominent, there are stalls that sell
continental dishes such as German,
Spanish and Italian foods. If smokers
bother you during meals, you’re in for
good news: Jatujak has been designated a
smoke free zone throughout and fines for
smoking go as high as 2,000 baht. Don’t
be tempted!
The Jatujak clock tower is a remarkable
symbol of this now 60 year old market.
Built in 1994, it was erected in honour of
the king’s 60th birthday and has today
become an iconic meeting place. If you
ever do end up getting lost, look for the
clock tower!
Jatujak Market is must-visit for
everyone. You will fall in love with the
amount of stalls, products, accessories,
food and dynamics. The place is
inexpensive, but the desire gets you
buying more than you originally thought
you would. Just make sure you go there
with plenty of time and plenty of money!
