This year , Compass Group UK & Ireland ’ s managing director , Dennis Hogan ( inset ), will be in the hot seat , answering topical and probing questions in front of a live audience of foodservice and hospitality industry professionals .
Dennis Hogan is the managing director of the UK ’ s largest food services firm and one of the country ’ s biggest private sector employers . Compass Group UK & Ireland is part of Compass Group PLC which operates in around 50 countries , with annual revenues of £ 17.8 billion in the year to 30 September 2015 , and £ 2 billion of revenues in the UK & Ireland .
Employing approximately 60,000 people , Compass Group UK & Ireland ’ s operations span more than 15,000 sites and include workplaces , famous sports and leisure venues , schools , hospitals , oil rigs and remote locations with much more in between .
Hogan joined the UK & Ireland business in January 2014 from Compass Group North America , where he was CEO of Canteen Vending Services .
During his 17 years at Compass Group North America , Hogan held a range of operational and finance roles , including heading up the Mergers and Acquisitions team .
Prior to joining Compass Group , Hogan was the Chief Financial Officer for a retail start-up venture in Washington , DC .
He also worked on strategic planning and product management for American companies MCI Telecommunications and Digital Equipment Corporation .
