Some captions I’ve seen while editing lately: pleasant in manner; good-natured; kind.
“Bringing a nice trout to net.” “he’s a really nice guy”
“Joe Hopperstein caught this nice walleye on a Rapala
Husky Jerk.” synonyms: pleasant, likable, agreeable, personable,
congenial, amiable, affable, genial, friendly, charming,
delightful, engaging
“Nice bluegills are the rule when you toss poppers over
their beds.” 2. f ine or subtle.“a nice distinction”
“Carl Walker caught this nice bass with a reel spooled
with Seaguar InvisX Fluorocarbon.” synonyms: subtle, f ine, delicate, minute, precise, strict,
close; careful, meticulous, scrupulous
Def inition of nice, lifted from some online dictionary
after I Googled: “that’s a rather nice distinction”
requiring careful thought or attention.
1. pleasant; agreeable; satisfactory.
“a nice point”
“we had a nice time”
synonyms:enjoyable, pleasant, agreeable, good,
satisfying, gratifying, delightful, marvelous; (of a person)
Do any of those def initions apply to a f ish or a large
multi-pointed buck? Maybe, if your audience is made of
up Ivy League grads who you want to impress:
