The conference registration notice was my reminder to start my plans for our organization’s signature extravaganza. DEFINE SOME OBJECTIVES. What are my goals? What are my primary responsibilities? And what can I take away from this experience? As a corporate member, those are questions that I need to answer fairly soon, so I’m not scrambling at the last minute. But regardless of your member category— it helps to have some clear objectives for our cornerstone annual event. I’ve attended many conferences and I can honestly say no two have been alike. Which is a great incentive for all members to try to make it every year. I know that may be asking a lot of those with busy schedules and walking a tightrope to balance personal and professional lives. But for those that are heading west come September, here are few It sounds simple, but it might be different for each one of us. For Media the obvious choice is lead, story and content development. For corporate members it’s providing the media with those leads by feeding them fresh content and relevant information. But outside of the obvious, try to outline other goals that give you a strong purpose for attending. USE THIS AS A MEETING OPPORTUNITY. I have utilized the conference as a key opportunity to meet with partners , vendors, prospects and business associates. The conference keeps everyone hopping with a busy agenda, for sure.
