SECTION THREE GLENN SAPIR’S CAP By tony dolle I don’t really know Glenn Sapir that well, though we share many of the same interests and have served in the same capacities for organizations in which we are both members. Geography prevents us from socializing except for brief periods the one or sometimes two times each year when we happen to attend the same media/outdoor functions. Even then, it’s mostly just a brief, polite conversation as we pass in a hallway. was president of the New York Outdoor Writers Association and I was president of the Tennessee Outdoor Writers Association. We both like to hunt, fish and write about and share our experiences with others. Okay, maybe we have a bit more in common than I first thought. We have both served as presidents of state and national outdoor media organizations – Glenn, a New Yorker, was president of the Outdoor Writ- ers Association of America (OWAA) in 1994-95 and I, a Tennessean, held that post in 2010-11. He The point of this is I have Glenn’s cap. We have been magazine editors for national publi- cations and both of us have worked for non-profit outdoor industry organizations. Glenn is a master storyteller and award-winning writer. Me? Well, let’s just say I’m still learning the trade.
