If no Zuclopenthixol available I use a combination of Haloperidol and Perphenazine. I don't use Haloperidol and Zuclopenthixol together. Emergency Situations Caution to certain drugs Regurgitation have been observed in high dose Thiafentanyl. Lost a Bull on 8/9mg Thiafentanyl. Shoulder placement of dart. 20 seconds in the bull fell, turned on its back. Regurgitated and died. Suggestion – Reversal with Naltrexone IV immediately? Clean the Mouth and pharanx. Florfenicol – Be carefull using this drug especially when Nyala is placed in a boma. The appetite suppression of this drug can cause animals to delay the onset of the adapting and eating in a boma. Consider using Tulathromycin instead if Pneumonia wants to be prevented or treated. Hypoxia / Apnea – Usually observed when in combination with alpha-2. Treatment – Oxygen. Reversal of the alpha-2. Butorphanol. Doxapram. Natrexone. Proper slap on the chest. Haloperidol – The extra-pyrimadal signs can be severe. Tx. Valium. Akineton. Fractures of Tibia/Femur Improper dart placement.
