TRAPPER TACKLE TRAPPER BOX HOOK
A geometric wonder of the 21st century , Designer Larry Davidson literally broke the mold on conventional thinking when he created a right-angle box hook . “ The problem with conventional J-hooks is that they create a pivot point which allows the hook to rotate in a fish ’ s mouth eventually wearing a hole and allowing the fish to escape ,” he explained . “ I took the traditional round hook and reconfigured it with two right angle bends which now makes it much more difficult for a fish to rotate the hook out of its mouth .” As an added bonus the unique trapper box dramatically improves live bait and soft plastic confinement by completely eliminating worms , swimbaits , and craws from sliding . “ Our pro staff and everyone who has used it are getting some remarkably high hook up percentages ,” he added . “ So I ’ m quite proud to have taken something that ’ s been used for thousands of years and made it better .”
Available in various sizes .
DOA LURES SNAKOIL
Designed with an anatomically correct head and slim 12 ” long body , the Snakoil ’ s mesmerizing action slowly uncoils with each twitch of the rod before retracting into a coiled defense posture after each pause . As it descends , the snake falls in a circular death spiral reminiscent of an injured snake . Fished either weightless using a 5 / 0 wide gap hook , or Texas rigged using a 1 / 8th ounce worm weight . “ The true quality of this lure is its versatility . We have prostaff using it to catch huge largemouth on the Kissimmee Chain and Lake Okeechobee here in Florida , saltwater guys catching cobia with it on the east coast , and bull redfish in the Carolinas .” Said Captain Ed Zyak . “ Along with mimicking a freshwater bass forage , its crossing over as a marine worm that trout , snook , and other inshore predators will consume as well .”
