O utstanding S tudent of the Y ear A ward
The Pennsylvania Society for Respiratory Care recognizes a student who has
demonstrated both academic and clinical excellence and who will likely contribute
greatly to the profession of Respiratory Care both now and in the future.
Recipient: Rachel Flannelly
Bachelor of Health Science in Respiratory Care
While studying respiratory care at
GMercyU, Rachel Flannelly has juggled four
young daughters and working part-time as a
patient coordinator.
Her lifelong goal has been to provide health
care to children and at-risk populations
afflicted with respiratory conditions. As a
student at Gwynedd Mercy University, she
was inducted into Alpha Eta, the National
Honor Society for Allied Health and the
Alpha Sigma Lambda, the National Honor
Society for adult learners.
Rachel is honored to have received the 2020 Pennsylvania Society for Respiratory
Care Outstanding Student of the Year. She is proud of the wonderful work done
by her peers during the Covid-19 crisis and welcomes the opportunity to make a
significant contribution within the respiratory care profession.
