"The biggest handicap to succes s is not a lack of brains , not a lack of character or willingnes s . It is a weaknes s in get ting things done." The Goal Achiever makes their work count. They Goal Achiever raises the world’s standard of living. The Goal Achiever wins the big share of the world’s rewards. The Goal Achiever is the person who has a clearly defined goal, has made a list of goal achieving activities for each day and will not permit the “Almosts” to distract them. The Goal Achiever has a very small gap between what they know they must do and what they actually do. I recently ran a poll asking people which knowing-doing gaps they had the most trouble with. Here are the results: Exercise - 7% Healthy eating - 13% Punctuality - 20% Keeping office work up-to-date - 27% Calling/Contacting prospects - 33% The only way you will form the habit of doing what needs to be done, regardless of your likes or dislikes, is to link that activity with a worthy goal or purpose which can best be accomplished by doing the activity. The knowing-doing gap is the reason behind millions of dollars in lost revenue in companies, hundreds of missed opportunities in business, and thousands of people struggling every day, achieving results well below their true potential. But all that can change. It is never too late to close your own knowing-doing gap and achieve great results.
