St. Paul has been converted from the former Beaux-Arts building to instill a feeling of luxury and modernism. Whimsical shapes can be found on the ceiling’s large round white lights and in the furniture. The contrast of red, black and white creates a fun environment. The use of slate grey in the furniture textiles and on the wall cements the modern feel captured throughout this space. ARC THE HOTEL Ottawa, ON www.arcthehotel.com This boutique hotel lobby has walls lined with black and white prints while the décor mixes bold shades in violet and crimson. The city’s vibrant past is reflected through numerous large candles and natural elements, yet the oversized windows and mirrored surfaces add a youthful twist. T DESIGN Upon entering this exquisite hotel, guests will immediately notice the high ceilings, complemented by details in the wood paneling. Floor-to-ceiling black metalwork pulls attention to the black and white metal sculptures hung from the ceiling. Nothing is left to the imagination in this impressive Yorkville lobby.
