LAND ACQUIRED FOR BALLPARK CONSTRUCTION STAGING SITE The Rangers and the City of Arlington worked together to acquire a nearly 3-acre parcel along Division Street to facilitate construction of the new Texas Rangers ballpark. The vacant lot at 1717 E. Division Street, which is south of the future ballpark, is being leased to the Texas Rangers for use as a temporary staging site for construction equipment. The Rangers have the option to develop the site after the new ballpark opens in 2020. Site excavation for the retractable-roof ballpark is expected to begin later this summer. The ballpark will be built on what are currently team parking lots south of Randol Mill Road, south of Globe Life Park in Arlington’s Entertainment District. 4 Bureau Veritas Selected for Plan Review and Inspection of New Ballpark Bureau Veritas has been hired to handle Plan Review and Inspection Services for the new ballpark project.
