Live! by Loews Construction Team
Loews Hotels & Co, The Cordish Companies and Texas Rangers announced that
the $150 million Live! by Loews flagship hotel will be constructed by a joint‐
venture partnership of Manhattan Construction Company and Arlington‐based
Con‐Real.
Together, the joint‐venture will be responsible for the construction of the
dining, entertainment, hotel and convention facilities of Texas Live! and Live! by
Loews upscale hotel and convention center.

Manhattan Construction Company is one of the largest, privately held
construction firms in the nation, widely known for building high‐profile,
technically difficult mega projects such as AT&T Stadium, which is one of the
premier sports venues in the world.
Con‐Real, recognized as one of the most established full‐service African‐
American construction and real estate firms, has experience in more than
3,000 projects including entertainment, commercial, hospitality, educational,
industrial and technology facilities.
This partnership marks an important milestone for the City of Arlington as
the first time a project of this size and scope has had a local, minority‐owned
business positioned as a joint venture partner to oversee construction.
The development team has also assembled an award‐winning team
of HKS Architects, Mycoskie+Mcinnis+Associates, Purdy‐McGuire and
McLaren Engineering Group to lead architecture and interior design,
civil engineering, mechanical/electrical engineering, and structural
engineering respectively.
Rangers, Cordish Companies Set up
Temporary Construction Offices
Now that ground has been officially broken for both projects, the Texas Rangers
and The Cordish Companies are working to establish temporary office sites in
Arlington’s Entertainment District to oversee construction of Globe Life Field
and Texas Live!
The Cordish Companies will office out of an existing building in the 600 block
of Stadium Drive for the next 18 to 20 months while the $250 million Texas
Live! project is underway. A groundbreaking ceremony for the entertainment
complex, which will also include a Live! by Loews flagship hotel, was held in
March 2017. The first phase of Texas Live! is set to open next year, followed by
the hotel in 2019.
Manhattan Construction Company is setting up two temporary construction
office sites in the 1700 block of East Division Street for the future $1.1 billion
retractable-roof ballpark. Manhattan Construction is renovating an existing
building formerly used as an art gallery for its office space. An adjacent tract of
vacant land, currently owned by the City of Arlington, will soon house up to 20
construction trailers for subcontractors working on the ballpark project. Globe
Life Field, being built as a public-private partnership between the City and the
Texas Rangers, is set to open in 2020.

former Arlington Mayor Richard
Greene about the excitement
surrounding the new $1.1 billion
Globe Life Field, set to open for the
start of the 2020 season. Greene
served as Arlington Mayor from
1987-1997 and he developed a
winning plan to build a new ballpark
for the team as part of a proposed
public-private partnership. Arlington
voters overwhelmingly approved
the plan for Globe Life Park in
Arlington in the largest-ever voter
turnout in a local election. During
Greene’s tenure as Mayor, the Texas
Rangers won the first-ever division
championship in team history,
hosted the 1995 All-Star Game, and
brought new economic benefits
to the city. Greene is excited to see
the partnership between the City
of Arlington and the Texas Rangers
continue with the construction of
Globe Life Field.
