Baklava How to bake it: Difficulty Level- 4 1. Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan. Tips & Tricks: This recipe isn’t necessarily hard as much as it is time consuming. The most difficult part is separating the sheets of phyllo dough and mentally prepar- ing to go though 4.5 sticks of butter. Separating the dough is an adult task but painting on the butter will be a fun way to get the kids involved. 2. Chop nuts and mix with cinnamon. 3. Mix honey, sugar and water in a sauce pan over medium until boiling. Reduce heat to simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool. 4. Melt butter one stick at a time until completely melted. What you’ll need: 2 packages of phyllo dough 4.5 sticks of butter 10 oz chopped walnuts 2 Tbsp cinnamon 1 cup sugar 3/4 cup water 3/4 honey 5. Separate a sheet of phyllo dough and cover bottom of pan. Paint on thin layer of melted butter, top with another sheet of phyllo dough. Repeat until there are 8 layers of phyllo dough and butter. 6. Sprinkle 4 Tbsp of nuts and cinnamon followed by 3-4 Tbsp of honey mixture. 7. Repeat phyllo dough and butter layers from step 5 to make another 8 layers. 8. Repeat step 6. 9. Keep repeating those steps until your out of nuts. 10. Top layer should be 2-3 layers of phyllo dough and butter with remaining honey on top. 11.
