MCCARTHY’S RED STAG PUB GUINNESS LAMB STEW Broadway Social has a great urban feel with exposed brick walls, wood- en beam ceiling and metal accents with riveting that is reminiscent of the steel industry days that Bethlehem is famous for. Broadway Social is known for their dual atmosphere of dinner and drinks. They boast about “two unique experiences” in offering a restaurant and nightlife. Broad- way Social served us up an Anejo Alexander made of Avion Anejo, Avion Espresso and cream shaken and strained served with a rim of sugar made of cinnamon, nutmeg and brown sugar. If you’re still on the hunt for an- other drink, but you’re on the way over the hill to hill bridge to main street, you can always stop by theMINT Gastropub up the street. TheMINT, located at 1223 W Broad St, is another location that has found its home in a former bank and is known for serving up contemporary comfort food and great libations. If you’re a local to Bethlehem you might know the owner, Domenic Lombardo, by the long standing reputation of his father, Stefano, who has owned and operated Bethlehem staples such as Sweet Basil and Stefano’s Sicilian Grille. Domenic has veered away from the Italian roots of his family’s restaurants and created a refreshing angle for Bethlehem since opening seven years ago. The inside is modern and bright, with its lime green walls and purple seating and serves a se- vere contrast to its concrete facade. As for the drinks served at theMINT, they create “Old world inspiration, new world applications”. Mixing Ap- plejack Brandy with Sweet Vermouth, Sloe Gin, lemon juice and simple syrup they create the “Apple Jax”. For someone who’s not a brandy drinker, this was delicious! It’s a tasty candy apple concoction for winter months. THEMINT APPLE JAX If all those drinks have left you hungry, head over to Fegley’s Brew Works for their Stout Onion Soup. The onion soup is described as, “Broth loaded with caramelized onions and a hint of sherry. Topped with a crostini, Swiss and provolone.”, and is a delicious twist on your classic French Onion. Fegley’s itself has a great vibe that includes exposed brick walls, hardwood flooring and diamond plating wrapping around the bar. They have their own brews on tap and their own Mug club.
