When not travelling the world, you’ll find her happily lounging on the back deck of her 1920s Queenslander cottage in Brisbane with a cold beer. Christine headed off from Bali on a traditional Indonesia timber boat for our Beyond Bali story that starts on page 62. Kate is an ocean-loving, globetrotting soul whose passion for travel stems from being utterly fascinated by the world around her; she also loves making friends all over the world. As a travel writer and photographer she shares her experiences through words and images, and has worked on many magazines and online publications as both a writer and editor. In this issue of Holidays for Couples Kate got to fulfill a dream when she went trekking in search of mountain gorillas in Uganda. The raging case of malaria she picked up along the way? Not so much. Check out Kate’s story on page 92. A Scottish journalist from Glasgow, Jane has edited three travel magazines and contributed to several newspapers and websites on the subject, which has allowed her to see a huge chunk of the planet, from the island of Mull to Mauritius, Vietnam to Vancouver. Although she adores the sun, she’s a cold-climate kind of a girl who loves snow, ice and the Northern Lights – Norway is her spiritual home. But one place she longs to see is Zanzibar, inspired by a radio programme she listened to at school when she was seven, where the only ice will be in her Pina Colada. Jane’s Waterworld story is on page 36. Escape to an intimate hideaway along the coast of tropical Fiji; the perfect place to indulge and rekindle your romance.
