From the moment the Tampa Bay Lightning bought out Vincent Lecavalier the debate over who will be the next captain has been ongoing. The Bolts will name a new captain on October 1st during an invitation-only event. Right wing Martin St. Louis and center Steven Stamkos are the top candidates to become the ninth captain in Lightning history.
