Phase 4 SCQF Level 4
Students on this course will normally have progressed from PEZ, however,
there is scope for students to come straight in at this level. A place on the
course is subject to an interview with HIVE staff.
WHAT’S INVOLVED
This course is the next step for students having completed the PEZ
programme. It aims to develop essential skills, motivation and selfconfidence in an innovative and engaging way.
This course involves looking at skills required for the workplace. Different
areas of employment are considered and students are given an overview
of these areas. The course supports research into jobs that are linked to
several locations such as hospitals, schools, nurseries, gyms, hotels and care
homes.
Course content includes a range of themes to assist in the development of
varied skill sets such as:
• Health, Social Care and Early Years
• Sports and Social Science
• Hair, Beauty, Make-Up Artistry and Complementary Therapies
• Art, Fashion, Music and Sound Production, Media, Photography and
Performance Arts
• Hospitality and Tourism
• Business and Computing
• STEM - Construction, Technology, Trades, Motor Vehicle and Horticulture
• STEM - Engineering and Science
The course is full-time and runs for 18 weeks starting in January and
September. The programme is available at our Ayr, Kilmarnock and
Kilwinning campuses.
If you successfully complete this course, there are
some courses you can move on to for example:
Prince’s Trust, Step into Youth Work, Step into
Employment, and a range of College courses.
Successful completion has also lead to employment
or places with other training providers.
