What is your best advice for clients, of all fitness goals, who are contemplating making a positive change, but
are scared to take the first steps?
Fear is self created and fear is a good motivating force. I chase my fears and take them head on because once you
overcome a fear you realize that it wasn’t really that big. That allows your perspective to change and you start
hunting your fears down to see what else you're afraid of that you don’t need too be. Your goals and dreams are
found right past your fears. You find confidence by attacking your fears. Because what is more fearful? Attempting
something and coming up short or never attempting it at all and having to live life with the feeling of regret that you
could have at least tried. I’ll take failure over regret anyway because in failure you get to stand back up and go at it
again. Life is too short to waste just sitting back watching time pass you by in fear. No one is going to give you
anything, the timing will never be perfect and you aren’t entitled to anything. The only thing you’re going to have is
what you work for and strive for. All you can do is put one foot in front of the other and keep moving forward
overcoming the challenges as they come. Once you get going you realize that it’s not that scary in fact is amazing!
What is your favorite thing about being a TRANSFORMER and being a part of the team at Hitch Fit Gym
Overland Park?
I feel like I have the best job in the world! I get to wake up each day and do my best to make an impact on the lives
of others. To help them transform their lives. Also the others in this Hitch Fit family are people who I admire and
respect a great deal so to just be apart of this elite group is something I am extremely prideful of and it builds
confidence more and more each day! All the possibilities of where it could go are very exciting!
Tell us a little bit about your charity and community involvement.
I’ve lead a section of a active summer camp for Hy’vee at MWSU where I spend 2 weeks all day leading groups of
kids ages ranging 3rd-6th grade and that was exhausting but a lot of fun! Team Hitch Fit fed the homeless at a local
shelter in KC and I really enjoyed meeting and talking to all those people going through hard times about their
stories. I lead a YMCA bootcamp session for some Y kids at the Whole Foods Market tour days with another Hitch
Fit trainer Kevin Doss.
