Hitch Fit Living Magazine Volume 3 - November/December 2015 | Page 3
The Holiday season is here! I know this typically isn't the time
of year that people put a great deal of focus on their fitness
goals. But why not? I think it should be just the opposite.
Imagine how great it would feel to start the 2016 New Year
having already achieved your fitness goal, or at least being in
progress and on plan towards achieving it. Wouldn't that feel
amazing? To be ahead of the game in the New Year, ready to
tackle other personal goals because you're already leading a fit
and healthy lifestyle.
How great would it feel to show up to holiday parties in a new
outfit that you feel incredible in? Or imagine having
accountability through the holidays so that you don't gain extra
fat weight to begin with.
I know what you're thinking... "I'm too busy during the holidays," "I travel during the holidays," "It's too
hard to eat healthy during holidays," "I have too many parties to go to," "I don't want to miss out on eating
something." Yes, I've heard all of these reasons and many more! But here's the thing. When we are talking
about learning and developing a healthy lifestyle, this means there are ALWAYS going to be travel plans,
holidays, parties and busy lifestyle to contend with. It's not likely that life will slow down even in the New
Year. I've heard people say that year after year they resolved to improve their health and fitness, and year
after year they didn't do it. They got to the New Year and were STILL busy, so they continued to put off
change, always waiting for the "ideal" time. Another thing to consider is the true meaning of the holiday
seasons. I know that over indulgence is a part of our culture, so it is quite an epiphany to people who
discover that they can truly enjoy holidays, time with friends and family, the true reasons for the season,
and make healthy eating choices at the same time!
When making healthy choices becomes a part of you, and simply what you do, then it makes no difference
what time of year it is or what is happening around you. There's no time like the present to start learning
and implementing those healthy habits. In fact, I think that people who embrace a lifestyle transformation
during times of perceived obstacles, will end up having a higher rate of long term success.
If you are currently leading a fit and healthy lifestyle, then that is excellent! In this new issue of Hitch Fit
Living magazine, we've got great new articles and transformation stories to share. As always we hope that
you will find continued incentive, ideas and motivation from Hitch Fit to stay on course. Thank you for
