FOOD PREP TIPS by Rock Star Hitch Fit Transformation - Lisa Heinemann http://hitchfit.com/before-afters/over-40-pound-weight-loss-transforms-this-mothers-life/ When I started my Hitch Fit journey over a year ago I realized very early on that the nutrition component was going to be the driving force for my success. I had a huge learning curve in front of me, but I was ready for the challenge. After reading through Diana’s tips for food prep, one item that she suggested that I should invest in was plastic storage containers. Boy was she right! I realized that I needed a lot of storage containers and also in a variety of sizes. The amount of plastic containers that I go through in a week is impressive. When I started doing food prep at the beginning of my program, I will be completely honest, I was overwhelmed. It was so much work to plan and prepare a full week’s worth of food on a Sunday night. But, as time went on and the more food “prepping” that I did, I actually realized that I enjoyed my “Food Prep Sundays” for two reasons. #1- I realized that I was more successful following my nutrition program when the food was ready to go (cooked and measured out) and I never allowed myself the chance to find a moment of weakness to make an unhealthy food choice. #2- I loved the sense of accomplishment that I felt once all my meals were packaged into grocery sack, labeled for each day of the week, and stored in the refrigerator. If you are just starting on this journey, here are somethings that I did that helped me feel less overwhelmed and more successful.
