W
hat do you get when you cross an
introverted wife and mother with
a vibrant women’s ministry and a
sanctuary filled with women wearing purple?
A blog called, Who’s That Lady, of course.
I wish I could take full credit for
my blog, but I can’t. Sure, I have an academic
background in writing. I write. I teach about
writing. This should have been a no-brainer,
right? Not so. The entire project is Goddriven; however, I would not have recognized
its potential were it not for one of my sisters
at church who suggested, “You should do a
blog called, Who’s That Lady?”
You see, that’s the title of the speech
I gave at church for Women’s Day, back in
2008. The point of it all was to get women to
realize that they shouldn’t depend on royal

raiment and expensive perfumes to make
them stand out in a crowd. It’s the light of God
that should pull others in.
It’s that piece of bling that God sits in
the seat of your heart. It’s that illumination
that can’t be hidden; the one bringing light to
any room, as soon as the heel of your stiletto
hits the tile on the fellowship hall floor. When
others see that light lifted up in you, they are
drawn to the God you. That light of which I
speak is the thing that should prompt others
to ask, in sheer wonderment, “Who’s That
Lady?”
