the program. I had
a young daughter.
I was pregnant and
had my youngest
daughter during the
program (there is
a story in the book
about this). The only
way I can describe
it, is that I knew that
God was calling me
for more. I didn’t
know how it would
all unfold at the time.
I just knew that I
could not quit. There
was this constant
push inside to keep
going and seeing it through. I knew that I
had two little ones who were counting on
me to eliminate excuses and clear a path for
them. I know that there are no mistakes,
and nothing is random. I would not change
a thing because I know every sacrifice
opened a door to today.
HimPower: No doubt, the feedback
you have received from the book has been
overwhelmingly positive. What are you
hearing from readers who have read the
book and begun implementing the tools you
provided?
Dr. Angela: I really did not know what
to expect when I released this book. Keep
in mind I just thought I was opening my
journal to everyone else. I wondered if
the book would even resonate with others
since I had written it for myself. What has

happened is nothing
short of amazing. The
number of people
who have reached out
to share their stories
of “staying ready” and
“getting over them-
selves and moving”
has been phenom-
enal. I am reminded
of a young lady I met
at a youth confer-
ence where I was
the keynote speaker.
After the event,
she approached me
and stated that she
wanted to apply to
two very rigorous ivy league summer intern-
ships. She had not applied because she had
convinced herself that she would never be
selected. She read the book, challenged her
fear, eliminated the distractions and applied.
She was accepted to both programs and
received scholarships to attend! She got over
herself and moved! I have had other people
reach out and tell me that they have birthed
businesses that they had been considering
for years and never moved on the idea.
Some of the readers have gotten new jobs,
written books of their own, improved rela-
tionships, etc. I never realized how often we
stand in our own way. The moment we open
ourselves to divine guidance and move with
intention, a shift happens!
