literally had to “get over myself and move.”
The day before launch the concept of 24
hours continued to resonate in my spirit. I
knew that I was 24 hours before the launch
and I thought that was why I kept focusing
on the idea. On launch day, 10 hours after
the launch, I received notification that I
was officially a #1 international best-selling
author! It is amazing what God can do in a
day! My life literally changed in 24 hours.
Every time I see this book, it is a reminder
of God’s direction and the importance of
being open to his plan.
HimPower: Where did you get your inspi-
ration for the stories that make your book
come alive?
Dr. Angela: The stories in the book are
things that I have experienced at different
times in my life. I try to stay aware and
present. I am mindful of the things that
happen around me because you never know
when a lesson is being taught. I have found
that God speaks to us in multiple ways if
we are aligned and paying attention! I have
learned so much just by being aware and
open to the lessons.
HimPower: In addition to your aware-
ness and openness, it is quite obvious how
important your family is to you. You even
included the story about your daughter’s
dream in the book—which is quite profound.
What can you tell us about your daughters,
your family?
Dr. Angela: My most important role is
that of wife and mother. I am a proud mom
of two wonderful daughters. My daughters
were born on the same day, four years apart!
Everyday my goal is to make my daughters
proud. I want them to know that there are
no limits when you tap into your divine gifts
and operate in purpose. I learn from them
every day. The dream that I included in the
book is just one example of how God speaks
to us in amazing ways. Sometimes it even
comes through our children. My husband
and I have been together for 22 years. We
were college sweethearts. Professionally, he
serves as a physician and happens to be an
author as well! He is very supportive and
always cheers me on no matter what new
project I undertake. I am blessed beyond
measure to have a spouse who is a believer
and understands the power of allowing our
lives to be divinely led.
HimPower: That is a powerful statement
and says so much about your husband. One
point that resounds over and over again is
your personal sacrifice and commitment
to succeed in reaching your goal. What
can you tell our HimPower Family about
the sacrifices you made in juggling family,
career, and pursuit of your doctorate and if
you had it to do over would you do anything
differently?
Dr. Angela: Balance. There were many
days when balance seemed like an impos-
sible dream. There is something very
powerful about focusing on your vision and
just relentlessly moving toward it. When I
look back on some of the sacrifices that were
made, as difficult as they were, I know that
they were all necessary. Like many women,
I wear many hats. During my doctoral
program, I worked full time during most of
