K . McCain : It was an unintentional decision . God really laid it in my lap . I ’ ve always had a heart to help and to problem solve . There was a ministry that didn ’ t have the resources for a women ’ s ministry and a few of my friends confided in me about their desire to start a women ’ s program at this church . Unfortunately , their leadership wouldn ’ t allow it , so , I figured , since I ’ m constantly doing personal devotions , maybe they ’ d like to join me . This was in June of 2013 . I was only married for 1 month when I found myself hosting 9 women in my living room every Tuesday night , discussing scripture and ways we could share God ’ s love in our community . By 2014 , there were 12 women between the ages of 19 and 27 , joining me for Bible Study and Prayer . The first devotion we did was Lord I want to Know You , by Kay Arthur . In 2015 , we received our Federal accreditation as a 501c ( 3 ) nonprofit organization and we are currently completing our 17th Bible Study .
HimPower : How many young women are currently involved , and how can others get involved or support your efforts ?
K . McCain : Currently , there are 17 active members spanning from Fayetteville , Winston Salem , Greensboro , Charlotte , Cornelius in North Carolina and one special Pearl who Skypes in from Hawaii Because our membership base is in North Carolina , those in the area are welcome to join us by inquiring through our email or social media accounts . If anyone is interested in supporting us financially , all giving is tax deductible through our website and would truly be a blessing for all the outreaches we conduct . We do our best to raise the funds we need , but every donation — no matter how small — helps our mission to bless those in need . This is our passion : to take what we are learning in our Bible Studies and apply it to real life situations , people and environments .
